Alexander Isaev, Member of RAS, Head of RAS research board on forests, CEPF RAS scientific leader made a presentation at the 397^th session of the Federation Council in the “Expert time” framework. His presentation summarized the state of the forestry in Russia and state-of-the-art capabilities of the satellite monitoring of forests.

Based on the presentation Valentina Matvienko, Head of the Federation Council, encharged the Federation Council Committee for agricultural policy and natural resource use with a task to prepare suggestions for legal framework improvement, which are necessary in this area.
