Annotation: The database «Reference data on ontogenesis and population density of forest-forming tree species» concludes earlier published information on some biological properties (for instance, growth and ontogeny rates under various environmental conditions, trunk and crown sizes at different ages, initial age of fruiting) of 21 tree species, which are native in European Russia. When selecting suitable sources of the information (yield tables, monographs etc.), close attention was paid to the ones characterizing stands of mixed composition and complex layer structure. Collecting the information will be go on. The collected data can be used in simulation models of long-term population and forest dynamics.
